Until few years back, US policy makers were focused on country’s idiotic and illogical campaign of war on terror. US military industrial complex made trillions of dollars from this campaign for atleast 20 years but this strategy damaged America quite a lot. War on terror drive consumed huge financial and military resources of America and kept it distracted from the growing global influence of its rivals such as China who got 20 long years to increase its military, diplomatic and economic powers while US was busy in wasting its resources in small and medium sized countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Iraq who were posing no threat for America’s status of sole global super power.

Now with the rise of China, US has ended its war on terror drive by withdrawing its forces from non productive military adventures in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan etc. Instead, the Washington has started pouring down its resources on new plans that are designed to contain the rise of China. One of these strategies is the creation of AUKUS military alliance AUKUS which was established two years back when US Australia and UK joined hands to facilitate the transfer of military technology among the three allies . Since its formation, AUKUS  has received sharp criticism not just from China but also from many Chinese partners. The recent country that has criticized AUKUS alliance is Srilanka, Lankan head of the state Wickremesinghe while speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Monday, said about AUKUS alliance that “I don’t think it was needed, I think it’s a strategic misstep. I think they made a mistake, It is a military alliance moved against one country – China” Srilankan leader said that that his country won’t be a part in the escalating tensions between U.S. and Beijing, adding instead the island nation would like to maintain good relations with both and does not wish to see Asia divided into blocs. “The next round of rivalry is going on. And that’s taking place in Asia. It’s the question of China versus the US, on how they are going to divide their region of influence in Asia,” he said. “Why are we getting pulled into it? It’s difficult for us to understand.”

He  also expressed concern about the increased  US military presence in the region in recently which US used to justify as ‘freedom of navigation’ missions by American officials.  Lankan president was quote saying “As far as the Indian Ocean is concerned, we don’t want any military activity, most neighboring countries “will not want NATO anywhere close by.” Point to be noted here is that some Chinese analysts also used to call QUAD and AUKUS alliances as new NATO.

US ‘Biggest Nuclear Threat’: China

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United States poses the greatest danger to the world when it comes to the risks of a potential nuclear conflict, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang told journalists on Friday. Beijing has accused Washington of making “irresponsible decisions” in attempts to maintain its hegemony, including through intimidating the international community with its nuclear arsenal, RT reported. The damning statement came in response to the Pentagon’s decision to upgrade US Forces Japan into a joint force headquarters under the command of a three-star officer reporting to the commander of the Indo-Pacific Command. The announcement was made by the US Defense Department in late July following the meeting of the American and Japanese defense and foreign policy chiefs. US Defense Secretary Llyod Austin hailed the development as “one of the strongest improvements in our military ties with Japan in 70 years” at that time. He also said that the two sides “held a separ...
