SAARC is the regional multilateral forum of south asian nations which includes Pakistan, Bangladesh Bhtan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. There were times when SAARC used to be the one of the most active geopolitical groupings in the world. But since BJP came to power in India, this group became the victim of BJP's Hindutva politics and lost its effectiveness These days SAARC's presidency is with Nepal and few days back they had suggested an informal meetings of the SAARC bloc on the sidelines of UNGA this month but India has refused to accept any such proposal due to Pakistan's presence.
