Iranian Commander: IRGC to Give Rigid Response to Possible Threats

 

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami underlined that the IRGC is at the peak of its power and dignity today and is ready to give a crushing response to enemies' possible threats.

General Salami made the remarks addressing a ceremony in the central city of Yazd on Thursday.


"At any point where the enemy seeks to target and threaten Muslims’ honor and dignity, the IRGC and Basij (volunteer forces) will be present and give a crushing response to the enemies," the IRGC commander said.

"The IRGC and Basij tighten the noose around the enemies’ necks and make the field so insecure for them that they will see no way out," he added.

Referring to the enemies' plots against the Islamic Republic, he said the Global Arrogance has entered war with Iran in various fields, including the economy. 


General Salami further said that the economic sanctions imposed on Iran are a clear example of the enemies’ threats against the Iranian nation.

"All of these enemy pressures and threats are aimed at imposing its ominous political objectives," he added.

General Salami also vowed that the IRGC would continue to make efforts with all its capacity to ensure the security and welfare of the Iranian nation.

Back in mid-July, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri underlined that the country's armed forces are at the peak of readiness to nip any act of aggression in the bud, and said it's several years now that the enemy has discarded use of the military option against his country thanks to Tehran's deterrence power.


The US and the Israeli regime have, thanks to Iran's military power, concluded that they cannot beat the Islamic Republic militarily, especially in ground warfare, he underscored.

For several years, the military chief stated, the enemies of Iran “have no longer been talking about a military option".

The senior commander stated that the Iranian military had “reached lasting deterrence and efficiency, and we have had [our capabilities] under constant watch".

“Especially when it comes to ground warfare, the global hegemony, criminal America, the Zionist regime and other enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have drawn the conclusion that any ground war with the Islamic Republic would bring nothing but defeat and harm. They have thus changed their minds,” the top general added.

Poll: US Public Support for Israel Wanes as 68 Percent Call for Ceasefire

  TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel’s war on Gaza is upsetting many Americans who think it must follow growing demands for an immediate ceasefire, according to a new poll. The Reuters/Ipsos survey found only 32 percent of respondents said “the US should support Israel”. That is down from 41 percent from a poll conducted on October 12-13 – just days after the war broke out. About 68 percent of respondents said they agreed with the statement, “Israel should call a ceasefire and try to negotiate”. Some 39 percent supported the idea “the US should be a neutral mediator”, compared with 27 percent a month earlier. Only 4 percent of respondents said the United States should support Palestinians, while 15 percent said the US shouldn’t be involved at all in the war.
