Tel Aviv rulers facing strategic impasse to ensure Israel’s survival: Iran

TEHRAN - Iran has strongly advised the Western countries against continuing to back Tel Aviv’s crimes against Palestinians, saying it is like betting on the “losing horse” because the “terrorist gang” ruling Israel is facing “strategic impasse” to ensure the regime’s “survival”. “Supporting the Zionist regime towards continuation of its crimes against Palestinians amounts to betting on the losing and hapless horse in addition to [carrying] legal and international responsibility,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani wrote in a post on X on Wednesday, Press TV reported. The official cited the mounting crises afflicting the regime as it is insisting on its genocidal war against the Palestinians in the Gaza the Gaza Strip which started in October last year. He enumerated the resignations that had plagued the regime’s ranks as well as the recurrent protests and a general strike that have taken place by those demanding an end to the war that could enable the return of those who rema

Why Indonesia and Thailand's bid for OECD membership could be a game changer

Indonesia and Thailand are bidding to become the first Southeast Asian countries to join the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Accession will require them to meet stringent standards across a range of areas from transparency to the environment. OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann said the "accession processes will benefit Indonesia and Thailand as well as the OECD." Since its founding in the 1960s, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has been associated with select middle- and high-income countries.  In recent months, however, the OECD began accession talks with  Indonesia and  Thailand , a historic move that could pave the way for the first southeast Asian countries to join the 38-country bloc. What is the OECD? The OECD is an international organization based in Paris, France, that aims to promote policies that improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. It functions as a platform for g

Over 1,500 Israeli settlers led by Minister Ben-Gvir, storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been one of the Israeli occupation’s provocative policies towards the Palestinian people, exemplifying the fact that the end goal of the Zionist project is incompatible with any semblance of Palestinian sovereignty August 13, 2024  by  Aseel Saleh Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir. US ‘Biggest Nuclear Threat’: China

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United States poses the greatest danger to the world when it comes to the risks of a potential nuclear conflict, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang told journalists on Friday. Beijing has accused Washington of making “irresponsible decisions” in attempts to maintain its hegemony, including through intimidating the international community with its nuclear arsenal, RT reported. The damning statement came in response to the Pentagon’s decision to upgrade US Forces Japan into a joint force headquarters under the command of a three-star officer reporting to the commander of the Indo-Pacific Command. The announcement was made by the US Defense Department in late July following the meeting of the American and Japanese defense and foreign policy chiefs. US Defense Secretary Llyod Austin hailed the development as “one of the strongest improvements in our military ties with Japan in 70 years” at that time. He also said that the two sides “held a separate

Iranian Diplomat Hails Hamas’ Non-Attendance in Doha Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of office for the protection of the interests of Iran in Egypt praised the decision by the Hamas resistance movement to absent itself from a new round of talks in Qatar on a ceasefire in Gaza, where the Israeli regime has killed over 40,000 Palestinians since October 2023. In a post on his X account, Mohammad Hossein Soltanifar said Hamas has adopted a “decisive and correct” stance by deciding to not attend the fresh round of talks in Doha, participated by Israeli officials. Taking a swipe at the Zionist regime for reneging on its commitments, he reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Palestinian nation and the resistance axis in the fulfillment of their legitimate rights. The diplomat then pointed to the Israeli assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, noting that once the resistance accepts a ceasefire deal and agrees on the return of the displaced people of Gaza as a revenge for the martyrdom of Haniyeh, then Iran may forgo its right to reveng

Some 39 percent supported the idea “the US should be a neutral mediator”, compared with 27 percent a month earlier. Only 4 percent of respondents said the United States should support Palestinians, while 15 percent said the US shouldn’t be involved at all in the war. While the US has been a significant Israeli ally, just 31 percent of respondents said they supported sending Israel weapons. The plunge in support fol

Iraq’s Resistance Forces Target Israeli Settlement of 'Eilat' in Support of Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for an attack on the Israeli settlement of "Eilat" for the second time in two weeks, vowing to carry out more attacks against the Israeli occupation amid the regime's bombardment campaign against Gaza.  The Iraqi resistance movement, an umbrella group of anti-terror fighters, announced in a statement published on its Telegram channel on Sunday that they targeted the illegal Israeli settlement south of occupied Palestine. The settlement is built on the ruins of the Palestinian town of Umm al-Rashrash. "In support of our Ummah (people) in Gaza, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and elders, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted a site in occupied Umm Al-Rashrash (Eilat) using appropriate weapons," the statement said. President Rayeesi: Israel Suffered Humiliating Defeat in Gaza Against Palestinians

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi underlined that Israel has suffered a “humiliating defeat” against the Palestinian nation and resistance as they managed to “incapacitate” the regime in its bloody war on the besieged Gaza Strip. Rayeesi made the remarks in an address to a meeting of Iran’s Assembly of Experts on Thursday on the 48th day of Israel’s aggression against Gaza, which has failed to secure the occupying regime’s declared objective of eradicating the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas. “The Zionists first declared that they wanted to occupy Gaza and destroy the resistance, but they achieved none of their objectives. What remains from the Zionist regime’s killing of women and children and destruction of people’s homes is the global hatred towards this regime,” he said. “If we want to make an analysis after over 40 days,… we must say that the enemy suffered a hu
