Iranian Defense Minister Cautions Westerners to Leave Region

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US and European military forces ought to abandon the delicate West Asia region or they will face reactions, specifically from the resistance axis, the defense minister of Iran warned.  In remarks on Saturday, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani advised foreign countries to pull their military forces out of the region and avoid looking for tensions. West Asia is a very important, strategic and delicate region as the energy transfer lines pass through it, he added, warning, “The presence of the US and some European countries in the region will draw reaction from the entire region, including from the resistance axis.” He reminded the US of its “strategic mistakes and miscalculations” regarding the region, noting that its biggest mistake was to support the criminal Zionist regime in the brutal onslaught against Gaza. The US must bear in mind that it will certainly pay the price for all those atrocities, the defense minister stated. In remarks on O

Iranian Navy Develops New air to air missiles

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy has manufactured two new air-to-air missiles, a commander said.  IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri announced on Saturday that the two new air-launched missiles have been developed for the purpose of destroying drones and cruise missiles. The two homegrown AAMs have a range of 4 km and 17 km, he added. The new missiles have already been manufactured and will be unveiled in future, the general noted. Hailing the IRGC Navy’s progress in manufacturing air- and sea-based missiles, the commander said the AI-powered missiles can precisely hit the targets at a distance of up to 2,000 km. Last week, the IRGC unveiled a new version of the ‘Fattah’ ballistic missile equipped with a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) warhead. The glide vehicle can reach a speed of Mach 5 to 20, depending on its design and utility.   This article was published in Tasnim News Agency and is republished here under a creative commons lic

President Rayeesi: Israel Suffered Humiliating Defeat in Gaza Against Palestinians

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi underlined that Israel has suffered a “humiliating defeat” against the Palestinian nation and resistance as they managed to “incapacitate” the regime in its bloody war on the besieged Gaza Strip. Rayeesi made the remarks in an address to a meeting of Iran’s Assembly of Experts on Thursday on the 48th day of Israel’s aggression against Gaza, which has failed to secure the occupying regime’s declared objective of eradicating the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas. “The Zionists first declared that they wanted to occupy Gaza and destroy the resistance, but they achieved none of their objectives. What remains from the Zionist regime’s killing of women and children and destruction of people’s homes is the global hatred towards this regime,” he said. “If we want to make an analysis after over 40 days,… we must say that the enemy suffered a hu

Demonstrators in DC Call for Ceasefire in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pro-Palestinian protesters held a rally outside the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters in Washington, DC, urging a ceasefire in Gaza.  US Capitol police officers have clashed with the non-violent protesters. The protest was organized by three advocacy groups and held in an area near the US Capitol in Washington on Wednesday night to urge lawmakers for a ceasefire in Palestine and an end to the brutal Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip. Several advocacy groups, including IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace Action, claimed on X platform (formerly known as Twitter) that they were “assaulted.” “We were peacefully linking arms, singing, and calling for a ceasefire,” IfNotNow posted. “Then Capitol Police rushed in, threw us down the stairs, and pepper sprayed us.” The organizers rejected allegations that demonstrators were violent. Photos posted on social media showed protesters wearing black T-shirts stenciled with “Cease Fire Now” in

Energy Bills in Great Britain ‘to Rise by 5% from January as Cap Hits £1,930’

TEHRAN (FNA)- Energy bills in Great Britain are expected to rise by 5% from January after analysts predicted that the government’s price cap could increase to about £1,930 a year for a typical gas and electricity bill. Households can expect a “tough winter ahead” after a jump in gas market prices that is likely to raise the cap on what suppliers can charge for energy by an average of £100 a year, according to Martin Young, an analyst at the investment firm Investec, The Guardian reported. Young said his final estimate for the energy price cap that would be used to determine most household energy bills between January and March would climb to an average of £1,928, up from £1,834 now. Cornwall Insight, a leading energy consultancy, has estimated that the price cap for the first quarter of next year could rise slightly higher to an average of £1,931 for the typical household. Poll: US Public Support for Israel Wanes as 68 Percent Call for Ceasefire

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel’s war on Gaza is upsetting many Americans who think it must follow growing demands for an immediate ceasefire, according to a new poll. The Reuters/Ipsos survey found only 32 percent of respondents said “the US should support Israel”. That is down from 41 percent from a poll conducted on October 12-13 – just days after the war broke out. About 68 percent of respondents said they agreed with the statement, “Israel should call a ceasefire and try to negotiate”. Some 39 percent supported the idea “the US should be a neutral mediator”, compared with 27 percent a month earlier. Only 4 percent of respondents said the United States should support Palestinians, while 15 percent said the US shouldn’t be involved at all in the war. While the US has been a significant Israeli ally, just 31 percent of respondents said they supported sending Israel weapons. The plunge in support fol

Iraq’s Resistance Forces Target Israeli Settlement of 'Eilat' in Support of Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for an attack on the Israeli settlement of "Eilat" for the second time in two weeks, vowing to carry out more attacks against the Israeli occupation amid the regime's bombardment campaign against Gaza.  The Iraqi resistance movement, an umbrella group of anti-terror fighters, announced in a statement published on its Telegram channel on Sunday that they targeted the illegal Israeli settlement south of occupied Palestine. The settlement is built on the ruins of the Palestinian town of Umm al-Rashrash. "In support of our Ummah (people) in Gaza, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and elders, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted a site in occupied Umm Al-Rashrash (Eilat) using appropriate weapons," the statement said. "The Islamic Resistance reaffirms its continuation

YEMEN SHOOTS DOWN ADVANCED US DRONE, VOWS TO KEEP UP MILITARY OPERATIONS AGAINST ISRAEL

TEHRAN (FNA)- Yemen's Armed Forces announced shooting down of an advanced American drone as the aircraft was performing an operation in support of the Israeli regime. The MQ-9 Reaper drone was brought down using a surface-to-air missile as the aircraft was flying in the airspace over Yemen's territorial waters, the Armed Forces said in a statement on Wednesday, Yemen's Al-Masirah television network reported. The aircraft was struck while carrying out an "hostile espionage" operation within the framework of the United States' military support for the Israeli regime, the statement added. "Yemen's Armed Forces lay emphasis on their legitimate right to defend the country and confront all hostile threats," said the Forces' Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree. "These hostile maneuvers do not serve to prevent the Yemeni Armed Forces from conducting military operatio

HAMAS SAYS MINISTER’S NUKE REMARKS SHOW LEVEL OF ZIONIST REGIME’S DECADENCE

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned the racist remarks recently made by a far-right Israeli minister, who called for dropping an atomic bomb on the besieged Gaza Strip. Israeli heritage minister Amichai Eliyahu said in an interview with Israel’s Radio Kol Berama on Sunday that using an atomic bomb against Palestinians in Gaza was “one of the possibilities,” and insisted that allowing any humanitarian aid into the blockaded area was wrong. “The statement by Eliyahu that throwing a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip is one of the solutions did not come out of nowhere, but rather is an expression of the level of decadence, Nazism, and sadism that is taking place in the corridors and minds of this occupying entity,” Hamas said in a press release. The Palestinian resistance movement added that the illegal entity is founded on killing and genocide, and treating others as animals. Hamas called the Israeli occupation leaders Nazi terrorists and ur

US BASES IN IRAQ, SYRIA TARGETED BY DRONES, ROCKETS

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two military facilities housing US occupation forces in Iraq's Kurdistan region and Syria's Hasakah province were struck by drones and rockets.   The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an anti-terror umbrella group, claimed responsibility for the attack on the al-Harir Air Base, situated north of Erbil International Airport. The base was targeted by two drones, which "directly hit their targets." The attack was linked to Washington's support for Israel's aggression against Gaza. The US House of Representatives recently passed a $14 billion aid bill, including billions for Israel's military. Various US officials have also supported Israel's actions and rejected ceasefire plans at the UN. Washington vetoed a UN Security Council resolution last month that called for humanitarian pauses in the Gaza conflict. The war initiated by Israel against Gaza has claimed the lives of nearly 9,227 Palestinians, including thousands of childre

US ‘Biggest Nuclear Threat’: China

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United States poses the greatest danger to the world when it comes to the risks of a potential nuclear conflict, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang told journalists on Friday. Beijing has accused Washington of making “irresponsible decisions” in attempts to maintain its hegemony, including through intimidating the international community with its nuclear arsenal, RT reported. The damning statement came in response to the Pentagon’s decision to upgrade US Forces Japan into a joint force headquarters under the command of a three-star officer reporting to the commander of the Indo-Pacific Command. The announcement was made by the US Defense Department in late July following the meeting of the American and Japanese defense and foreign policy chiefs. US Defense Secretary Llyod Austin hailed the development as “one of the strongest improvements in our military ties with Japan in 70 years” at that time. He also said that the two sides “held a separate
